More likely, the hosting provider contracted the authoring of this template to a CS student, looking for a quick way to raise his weed-fund. And, after failing to locate a royalty-free image, he located this image on his local drive ... output from the raytracer he wrote last semester. The lack of texture-sampling is passable (I'm assuming an undergrad here) - but maybe the Phong surface shader could have had solid-color support?

I'm just saying..

Maybe the shadowing feature took longer than you expected - or you blew your time looking for the missing ground-plane.

But, I have the template; and that's evidence that you sold this back to the client. Who knows, maybe you created this image *in* 1982, and proceeded to sue EA when they used your programmer-art for their original logo.
